Not an official site
x2visa.com is an independent information site. It is not run by, and has no connection with, the National Immigration Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, any Chinese embassy or consulate, or any visa application service centre. It cannot accept, forward or speed up a visa or residence permit application.
Visa applications are decided by Chinese diplomatic missions. Residence permits are decided by the exit-entry administrations of public security organs in China. Where their current instructions differ from a page here, follow them.
What the site covers
Student visas for mainland China (X1 and X2), the papers that go with them, and the formalities after arrival: the residence permit for study, accommodation registration, the work-study endorsement, transfers and extensions. It does not cover Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan, and it does not cover work, tourist or business visas.
How the rules are sourced
Rules are taken only from texts published by the National Immigration Administration, Chinese diplomatic missions and the Ministry of Education. Each rule names the article or page it comes from. The sources were last opened and read on 11 October 2026. When a source says nothing on a point, the page says so instead of filling the gap.
The site does not publish visa approval rates, does not rank or recommend agents, and does not promise any outcome.
Who operates it
The site is operated by UNILINK EDUCATION PTY. LTD, an education consultancy with operating entities in Australia, China and the United Kingdom.
Privacy
The visa type checker runs entirely in your browser: your answers are not sent to the site or stored. The site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Its hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs and aggregate visit statistics that do not identify individual visitors. If a question box is offered on a page and you choose to use it, what you type is processed to answer you and to let an adviser follow up if you ask for that; do not enter passport numbers or other identity document details.
Corrections
If a page disagrees with the current official text, the official text is right. Rules change, and missions add local requirements; always read the page of the mission where you will apply.
