How long a China student visa takes: the processing days seven missions publish

Unofficial summary · Sources checked

The seven pages below each give their own processing days for visas applied for abroad. None of them states a single figure for China as a whole, and this article does not combine them into one. Each page gives four working days or business days for regular service, and five of them give three days for express service. Bangladesh adds a two-day urgent line, while Pakistan and Nigeria list no express line in their processing sections.

What each page says

The figures come from the processing sections of each page. The pages carry dates from 2020 to 2026, so check the date column before you plan.

Mission Page date Regular service Express or urgent service Caveat on the page
United Kingdom 1 July 2020 (time stamp) Ready for collection on the 4th working day Ready for collection on the 3rd working day Section IV gives the two lines without a caveat.
United States (Embassy in Washington, for applicants in its jurisdiction) September 2025 4 business days 3 business days (urgent situation) The figures are "average and for reference only" and are counted from the date of passport submission. Some applications may take longer, and a pick-up date is confirmed only when the Visa Office notifies the applicant.
India August 2024 Usually 4 working days Usually 3 working days The period applies to "qualified" applications. VIP service from the visa centre is a third-party service and is not related to visa issuance or the processing time.
Bangladesh 7 January 2026 4th working day 3rd working day (express); 2nd working day (urgent) The fee table's column labels read "Regular Delivery (the 4th working day)", "Express Delivery (the 3rd working day)" and "Urgent Delivery (the 2nd working day)".
Pakistan 28 April 2025 Generally 4 working days after the passport is received The page says it "doesn't provide urgent or extra urgent service" Processing may vary case by case because of document supplementation, an embassy interview and similar reasons. A returned application that is reapplied for counts as a new application, recalculated from the date it is forwarded to the Embassy.
Nigeria (guidelines for Nigerian citizens) 6 September 2024 Normally 4 working days Item 3 (Processing time) lists no express line Processing is "subject to visa officer's decision."
Kenya Date line 9 July 2026 4 business days 3 business days (urgent situation) The page says the processing time is "average and for reference only" and is calculated from the date of passport submission. Some applications may require longer, and a pick-up date cannot be confirmed until notified by the Embassy.

How to read these figures

The count starts at different points. The US and Kenya pages count from passport submission. Pakistan's page counts from receipt of the passport. The UK page measures to the day the visa is "ready for collection", which is a different event from a decision on the application.

Working days and business days are used as each page writes them. Where a page says "working days", this article keeps that wording. The same applies to "business days".

The processing text is not split by visa category. Each processing section covers visa applications in general. None of the seven pages gives a separate figure for X1 or X2. Bangladesh's table is organised by passport and number of entries, not by visa type.

The UK page is the oldest of the seven. Its page carries a 2020 time stamp. Check the embassy's current page before you rely on its days.

Planning from these figures

Count from the day the complete application is submitted, not from the day you want to travel. The caveats above show the main ways a case can take longer: a request for more documents, an embassy interview, or a returned application that has to be sent again. The Pakistan page names document supplementation and embassy interview as reasons processing may vary. Leave room in your travel plan for those cases.
